Levi’s, one of the most important icons of the fashion world and a symbol of timeless style, has entered into cooperation with the Japanese brand Undercover, known for its original combination of streetwear with elements of high fashion. The result is Levi’s anniversary collection, which celebrates the 35th anniversary of Undercover while paying homage to the shared history of both brands. The collection, scheduled to premiere on January 18, is not only a fashion event, but also a return to roots – the first collaboration between Levi’s and Undercover took place 25 years ago.

Cooperation Levi’s from Jun Takahashi, founder of the iconic Japanese brand Undercover, took place for the first time in 1998. It was then that both companies revolutionized the approach to fashion, combining classic denim with avant-garde streetwear style and elements of high fashion.
After many years apart, Levi’s and Undercover have joined forces again in 2022 to create a joint collection for the fall season. The Levi’s anniversary collection, which will premiere on January 18, is more than just another installment of their collaboration. It is a kind of tribute to tradition, which at the same time introduces a fresh perspective on denim and fashion as a whole. The designs include references to the original ideas from the 90s, as well as modern details. All of this reflects the development of both brands over the years.
What does the Levi’s anniversary collection present?
In the center new collection there is of course a pair of iconic jeans embroidered with the words ” Light, Darkness ”. These words symbolize the duality of life and reflect the artistic vision of Takahashi, who has been combining contrasts in his designs for years. These jeans, like the rest of the collection, are full of details – from spiked seams to prints in the style of “ peering eye ”.
The creator of the campaign promoting the collection is himself Flea, bassist of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, known for his unconventional style and stage energy. The photoshoot was done by Clara Balzary, a musician’s daughter and a renowned photographer, lending a personal and artistic touch to the project. The photos were taken in Malibu, with Flea posing both on the ocean’s shore and in the water, paying homage to the freedom and authenticity that the collection represents.
The Levi’s anniversary collection consists of nine carefully designed elements that emphasize the uniqueness of this collaboration. Trucker and denim jackets offer sharp shoulders and zippers, allowing you to personalize your look. A small red label with the inscription “Small Parts” refers to the first collaboration between both brands. The legendary 501 jeans were also there. and baggy models, decorated with spiked seams that add punk energy to the entire collection.
