An event took place in Paris that attracted collectors and luxury enthusiasts from all over Europe. The final amount confirmed the growing strength of the collectible fashion market.
Chanel auction in Paris and fashion gems
Designs from 1995–2023 went under the hammer, including pieces created by Karl Lagerfeld and Virginie Viard. Among the biggest sensations was a black wool jacket from the Chanel Cruise 2005 collection, adorned with the fashion house’s signature monogram. Its final price reached 6,400 euros, far exceeding experts’ estimates.

The offer also included coats, dresses, sweaters, handbags, watches, and jewelry — all sold. The high attendance at the pre-auction exhibition only confirmed that archival designs from luxury fashion houses are now becoming a fully-fledged investment.
