Jacquemus Spring 2024

Paris Fashion Week has come to an end, but its last days were full of surprises. The winter sun shone on the show Jacquemus Spring 2024, which took place on the coast of Nice in France. After the last spectacular show last season, where the brand welcomed guests to the Palace of Louis XIV in Versailles, the bar was set extremely high. The latest show by Szymon Porte Jacquemus was not only a parade of clothes, but also an event that will be remembered by anyone who wants to find inspiration in unusual places.

Quiet luxury

Like a poetic expression of quiet luxury, the SS24 collection Jacquemus took viewers on a journey through the subtle nuances of elegance. Each element was carefully considered, with attention to the smallest details. From unusual cuts to exceptional fabrics, the entire collection exuded refined minimalism. And yet it left no doubt about its exclusivity. The show, as usual, opened with Gigi Hadid, wearing a full leather ensemble with a tonal crocodile texture, oversized straps and voluminous sleeves. The model’s posture and outfit highlighted the key element of this collection: boldness.

Next, the catwalk featured voluminous uniforms with neck openings that resembled the shape of a boat. They were soon joined by seamless jackets wrapped women’s figures in an elegant way, presenting a modern interpretation of a classic. The collection also featured innovative approaches to workwear.

The circulating trousers, with their unique cuts, worked perfectly with the low-slung tops, creating a harmonious balance between tradition and modernity. Meanwhile, the pulled-down trousers brought a touch of nostalgia to mind, recalling the style that was characteristic of JW Anderson’s SS24 collection. In this way, the brand not only presents trends, but also refers to contemporary interpretations of fashion, weaving a note of experimentation into them.

Interestingly, not everything that appeared on the runway was grand and glamorous. Jacquemus perfected modern tailoring, using improved fabrics, which gave the collection a unique character. Necklines were cropped to fit the body perfectly, while loose leather trousers and cami knits appeared in casual shades of red.

The collection also smoothly moved into a space full of fringes, where prints intertwined with modern cuts, asymmetrical dresses and light jumpsuits. In turn, the very end of the Jacquemus spring 2024 show was reserved for a minimalist interpretation of progressive wedding style by Simon Porte. The gala ended with a wrap dress with sharp lines and a delicate, transparent veil, which was the perfect summary of an extraordinary event.
