What is hidden inside? new Givenchy boutique? In 1952, when Hubert de Givenchy launched his brand, Frank Lloyd Wright was designing the modern Anderton Court Shops in Beverly Hills. Both opened in 1954. Seventy years later, Givenchy is opening its first permanent flagship store on the West Coast there, occupying the entire complex. 8,000 square feet, to be exact. History comes full circle
For the opening of its first permanent store in Los Angeles, Givenchy opted for a space that reflects the spirit of the brand. Hubert de Givenchy’s passion for art and architecture made Frank Lloyd Wright’s building the perfect choice ” says Valerie Leon, president of the brand in the Americas. Additionally, to oversee the renovation and preserve the historic integrity of the building, the company worked with Victor Fuentes and Flora Chou from Page & Turnbull.

The renovation included restyling the original concrete ceilings and floors, which were painted in Wright’s signature red. Two original fireplaces were also discovered. To give the interiors a unique character, Givenchy’s archival tiger-print fabric was used on the upholstery and staircases. Although the historic complex originally housed a variety of shops, Givenchy decided to preserve its character. So they divided the space into two separate shops: “Shop 1” for men’s clothing, and “Shop 2” for women’s accessories, shoes and a full selection of women’s clothing on the upper floor.
