The world of fashion is a world ruled not only by craftsmanship, but also by vision, passion and boundless beauty. Similar words can be used to describe the experience offered by new Saint Laurent exhibition, dedicated to the work of its legendary founder. Moving from one exhibit to another, we feel the pulsating energy of creativity that shapes our perception of fashion as art.
In this magical space, permeated with haute couture aesthetics, we discover not only the exquisite cuts but also the perfection of details. Each element of the exhibition: “Yves Saint Laurent: Line and Expression, is like a piece of a puzzle that makes up a fascinating picture of the life and work of an exceptional designer.
Monumental creation of YSL
The exhibition curated by Olivier Saillard and Gaël Mamine, represents a unique combination of the efforts of two prestigious institutions. Musée Yves Saint Laurent Marrakech and Musée Yves Saint Laurent Paris, joined forces with the support of Pierre Bergé Foundation. This extraordinary combination of forces enabled the presentation not only of Saint Laurent’s legacy, but also of the context in which his work was created.

We will see original sketches there, which were the initial impulse for later haute couture creations. We will have the opportunity to look at his extraordinary sensitivity to detail through photographs, jewelry accessories and unique elements of clothing. However, this is not the end of the attractions. The new Saint Laurent exhibition will open simultaneously with the second exhibition. “Color Is the First Revelation of the World” is an exhibition that fascinatingly explores the relationships between color and form.
The inspiration for this second exhibition was the extremely influential Brazilian artist Hélio Oiticica. Over twenty artists will also present their works. Among them are such important figures as Cy Twombly, Yves Klein, Felix Gonzalez-Torres, Chris Burden and Agnes Martin. This unique confrontation of art and fashion will provide us with unforgettable experiences and inspiration to reflect on the nature of creativity and artistic expression.
The new Saint Laurent exhibition is an unforgettable experience

Heidi Zuckerman, CEO and director of the Orange County Museum of Art, summed up this extraordinary endeavor well. “This suite of exhibitions celebrates a broad range of extraordinary creative visions, from sculpture to drawing, from fashion to painting. From the intimate drawings of Yves Saint Laurent – inspired by his beloved city of Marrakesh – to a constellation of artists exploring colors as a medium for understanding the world, these shows offer embodied sensory experiences that expand our understanding of color, material, and process. It is an honor to premiere Line and Expression and create new moments of wonder, awe, and encounter for audiences in Orange County.”
Both of these fascinating exhibitions will be open to the public from 28 June to 27 October. The Joan Brown retrospective will be available until June 2, offering a unique opportunity for all art and fashion enthusiasts to discover the extraordinary worlds created by the outstanding minds of our time.
