Fashion as art – from individuality to sustainable development

Mariola Turbiarz began her career in Poland, designing unique collections. As she says, her approach to design has remained unchanged over the years: “I always wanted these to be individual, unique clothes. I never wanted to go mass-produced. I wanted my work to be an artistic part of my life.” Her designs are unique, and the designer herself has focused on quality and individuality from the beginning.

The COVID-19 pandemic changed the world of fashion, forcing Mariola to expand her offer to include oversized clothes, which worked better in online sales. At the same time, she remained faithful to the principles of sustainable fashion: “I try to get materials from the end of the series, I give a second life to clothes with interesting fabrics. I sew to the last scrap, I do not create waste,” emphasizes the designer.
